Peecol

I think eBoy needs no introduction, but just in case. They are a design company with an office in Berlin (DE) and Vancouver (CA), and they describe their work like this: “We create re-usable pixel objects and take them to build complex and extensible artwork. And we make toys.” So that says it all I think.

Peecol was released in 2007. And for the production they teamed up with Kidrobot and Asterokid. What amazes me is that they managed to capture their pixel style into these toys, and make them all interchangeable. They resemble a bit like an oversized Lego figure with a Playmobil glow, but they are more defined in style and shape. Douglas Lassance explains the idea quite well on this website, go check it out.
